Polder Deluxe Tabletop Ironing Board Review
The ironing board is one of the most important household essentials. It gives such ease and convenience when ironing clothes, and with its help, every nook and cranny of your favorite top is wrinkle-free.
However, it’s not always the most convenient to have around the house, especially if you live in a tiny apartment and share with roommates. Most ironing boards take up a little too much space for storage. It also isn’t that easy to handle – setting it up can take quite a while if you own an old, heavy, and bulky ironing board.
Thankfully, all those issues are gone now. With modern day ironing boards, we can now happily take our fresh laundry out and get them ready to go through the heat. Polder Deluxe Tabletop Ironing Board promises to be everything we didn’t know we wished our ironing board to be. It’s supposed to be designed to save space at home, easy to assemble and disassemble, and convenient to use.

But does it really live up to its claims? I tried it out.
Living in a small apartment with my sister has been a challenge from the beginning. I wasn’t accustomed to sharing a bathroom, but we both had to compromise since we are adults, living and working in the city of dreams — albeit staying in a teeny-tiny apartment.
One of the many challenges was figuring out how we could fit all our furniture and household appliances in our humble abode – one of them was the old ironing board our mom gave us when we moved out. It was heavy, bulky and wobbly, and we just couldn’t justify the stress it was giving us each time we try to iron our clothes. I must admit that most of the time I’d just go without it!
We bought the Polder Deluxe Tabletop Ironing Board. It’s small, slim, and lightweight – everything the old one was not. It’s light yet it doesn’t feel flimsy at all, so I was so excited to use it. After using it to iron my clothes a few times over the past three weeks, here are my thoughts on it:
Firstly, I like that the ironing board comes in this simple yet beautiful design. The legs are white and the actual table top is this off-white color.
Although the entire thing weighs almost like nothing, it’s surprisingly sturdy and feels as strong as an ironing board needs to. It doesn’t wobble like our old ironing board does when I move the iron around. It stays upright on its position even when I put a considerable amount of pressure on it. It stands up (pun not intended) to over a half hour of ironing my clothes, and I cannot complain about the performance of it at all! I set it up on the floor and I sit in front of it, and I don’t experience straining in my back muscles with this setup.
The board has a retractable metal rack on the side for when you need to set the iron down for a bit. While I like the concept of a rack that glides in and out, it’s a little bendy so I don’t find it helpful at all. It also doesn’t lock so it slides out if you’re not careful with it. I hope the manufacturers improve this aspect of the product.
Since it’s small and lightweight, I have no problems storing it after my weekly ironing. I just put it in my closet and it fits perfectly. It’s also easy to take out because it doesn’t take any effort to lift it.
I wish it came with a decent removable cover so I could just wash it once it got dirty or replace it with other covers. I’m still figuring out how to deal with the cover, but I’m probably buying new ones from the store.
